Current status: Technical Preview

WatDis Studio is currently in a Technical Preview phase. It uses the EPANET engine as its core hydraulic solver while the WatDis Engine is under active development. This version is intended for pilot projects, research, teaching, and exploring modern workflows — not yet as a sole replacement for production-critical tools without parallel validation.

Recommended uses today

  • Explore a new way of working with pressurized networks.
  • Run pilot projects with utilities, consultants, or universities.
  • Create clear visualizations for technical meetings and reports.
  • Test AI-assisted documentation and result explanations.

What WatDis Studio offers

Hydraulic canvas

Build and edit pressurized water networks on an interactive canvas, with clear, professional iconography for nodes, pipes, tanks, pumps, and valves.

EPANET-based calculations

The current phase leverages EPANET as the hydraulic engine, ensuring compatibility with a well-known and widely validated standard.

Advanced visualization

View pressure, flow, and ΔH/L maps using scientific colormaps, filters, and tools to quickly identify issues in the network.

AI as an analysis companion

WatDis integrates AI tools to explain results, generate reports, suggest scenarios, and support repetitive documentation tasks.

From EPANET to WatDis Engine

The vision for WatDis Studio is to rely on EPANET in its early versions and then gradually transition to a proprietary engine: WatDis Engine, remaining compatible with EPANET while enabling new capabilities.

Today

  • Numerical core: EPANET.
  • Model import/management.
  • Visualization and AI integration.

Next

  • Extended handling of valves and controls.
  • Improved scenario analysis.
  • Deeper AI integration.

Future (WatDis Engine 1.0)

  • Proprietary engine compatible with EPANET.
  • Advanced scenarios and better performance.
  • Native integration with the rest of WatDis Suite.

Who can benefit from WatDis Studio today?

  • Engineering firms – Prototype solutions, prepare visual material for reports, and explore scenarios with clients.
  • Utilities & operators – Use WatDis Studio in internal pilots and innovation programs to evaluate new ways of analyzing their networks.
  • Universities & research centers – Teach hydraulic concepts in a modern environment and conduct applied research and Digital Twin projects.
