What you will achieve

  • Define daytime and nighttime periods.
  • Connect each time with the active target.

Before you start

  • Use a model with a correctly oriented pressure-reducing valve.
  • Confirm starting clock time and INP units.
01

Choose the day/night schedule

Select the PRV and enable its daily program. Set the start time and pressure target for each period.

  • Times belong to the model clock.
  • Use pressure head in the displayed unit; do not mix SI and US.
02

Run the simulation

Run the extended period simulation and stop at one representative time in each period. Confirm the active time before comparing.

  • A scheduled target does not replace other hydraulic conditions.
  • Recalculate after editing time or pressure.
03

Compare both states

Review the valve, map, and downstream results at daytime and nighttime. To place both states on the same route, use the profile comparison.

Do it in WatDis

  1. Set daytime and nighttime targets.
  2. Run and visit one time in each period.
  3. Record time, target, and resulting pressure separately.

Common mistakes

Confusing clock time and elapsed time

Check both labels before describing the active period.

Mixing units

Keep all targets in the unit system shown for the model.
